to violence are more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs and report sexual dysfunction, suicide attempts, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and central nervous system disorders. Partner abuse is also associated with increased levels of depression, anxiety and eating and personality disorders. Partner abuse is often hidden and only a small fraction is reported to the authorities.
